Market Pulse: the options screener

The Pulse page of GEXStream is a market-wide options screener: one sortable table for S&P 500 stocks and one for ETFs and indices, each row carrying a ticker's latest gamma exposure (GEX), open interest (OI), implied volatility (IV) and options flow readings, refreshed every five minutes. On Quant, each card gains two more tabs: the Most Active Options board and the Sustained Flow board.

The Pulse page with two screener cards side by side: S&P 500 Stocks with 548 rows and ETFs & Indices with 115 rows. Each card has a Screener tab and a Most Active Options tab, a row of per-column filter dropdowns, and columns for GEX Ratio, Net GEX, vGEX Ratio, Net vGEX, DEX Ratio, Net DEX, VEX Ratio, Net VEX, CEX Ratio, Net CEX, OI Ratio and Total OI, with values colored green or red.
The Quant screener: the stocks card sorted by Net vGEX (gamma exposure by volume), the ETF card by Net CEX (charm exposure), one filter dropdown per column.

What it shows

Each row is one ticker's most recent reading. The universe is S&P 500 stocks, the top 100 ETFs, 7 major indices and some additional stocks, split across the two cards; the number in each Screener tab is that table's row count.

Columns are gated by plan. Basic sees nine: Ticker, GEX Ratio, Net GEX, OI Ratio, Total OI, OI Chg%, IV Ratio, Net IV and Net IV Chg. Flow adds vGEX Ratio and Net vGEX (vGEX weights gamma by today's traded volume instead of open interest), Flow Ratio, Net Flow and Net Convexity, for 14. Quant adds Prem Ratio and Net Premium, then the delta exposure (DEX), vanna exposure (VEX) and charm exposure (CEX) pairs at the end, for 22. Clicking a row opens the dashboard on that ticker at its next expiration.

How to read it

Every Ratio column runs from 0 to 1 with 0.5 as the pivot, and every Net column is signed. GEX Ratio is the share of total absolute gamma sitting on strikes whose call-minus-put gamma came out positive: above 0.5 reads as dealers net long gamma, below 0.5 as net short. Formulas are on the docs page: GEX Ratio and Net GEX, Flow Ratio and Net Flow, Net Convexity, Net Premium and Premium Ratio, open interest walls and IV Ratio and Net IV. DEX, VEX and CEX are different in kind: each sums call and put exposure at its natural sign, so read the sign as the positioning of the options, not of a dealer's book.

OI Chg% is the day-over-day change in Total OI on the front expiration, so it jumps on the day the front chain rolls.

Filters, sigma ladders and sorting

Above each table sits one dropdown per column. Ratio columns offer ≥ 0.80, ≤ 0.20, Top 10 and Bottom 10. Every other column offers a sigma ladder instead: ≥ +2σ, ≥ +1σ, ≤ -1σ and ≤ -2σ, scored against each metric's own population. Level metrics (Net GEX, Net IV, Net vGEX, Net DEX, Net VEX, Net CEX, Total OI) use a 120-day daily band; Net Flow is matched to the same time of day on prior sessions; OI Chg% and Net IV Chg to the same weekday over 200 days; Net Premium and Net Convexity to the same hour. A row with no band for a metric never matches that metric's sigma filter.

Clicking a header cycles ascending, descending and then magnitude (distance from zero, largest first) on signed columns; ratio columns keep a two-state toggle. The search box takes up to 10 comma-separated tickers: a single term matches as a substring, several match exactly. The ★ My list chip narrows a table to your watchlist, one saved list of up to 20 tickers on every plan, with a separate switch on each card.

Most Active Options (Quant)

The second tab on each card ranks individual contracts by today's volume, up to 150 per card, each contract on the card its underlying's screener row is on. Columns: Contract, Last, Chg, Chg%, Volume, Vol Chg% (against that contract's final volume in the prior session) and OI. Coverage leans toward each ticker's nearest expiration. Filters: Calls or Puts, sign of the change, days to expiration (0DTE, ≤1W, >1W), Vol/OI floors from >1× to >10×, moneyness (ATM, OTM, ITM), notional floors of $1M and $10M, and a Diverse toggle that caps a board at three contracts per underlying.

Sustained Flow (Quant)

The third tab lists the names whose gamma structure has been one-sided and whose net flow has run at least one sigma from its time-of-day norm for more than two-thirds of the last 30 minutes, on real volume. The long gamma board requires GEX and vGEX ratios above 0.80 for the whole minute; the short gamma board requires both below 0.20 with negative Net GEX. The volume floor is the 80th percentile of the universe's session volume, never below 5,000 contracts. The first board appears at 9:45 AM ET and a new one every five minutes.

Rows carry Tenure (how long the name has held the state, the default sort, longest first), Flow Z (the median sigma of net flow over the window, its sign giving the direction), Volume, and Net Premium over the same 30 minutes with its own sigma. A dimmed FORMING tier below the list holds names past the same rule over 7 of the last 10 minutes but not yet the 30; a fading chip marks a confirmed name that has slipped to 23 or fewer qualifying minutes of 30 and is still slipping. Every chip is explained in the docs entry. The Close Screen email, included with paid Quant plans, applies the same screen over the final 45 minutes before the close.

Which plans include it

The screener is part of every plan. Basic includes the GEX, OI and IV columns with their filters and sigma ladders, header sorting, the ticker search and the watchlist chip. Flow adds the vGEX, Flow and Net Convexity columns. Quant adds the Prem Ratio and Net Premium pair, the DEX, VEX and CEX columns, the Most Active Options boards and the Sustained Flow board. The three-day trial runs at Quant, so it shows the whole page.
