Question 1

What is gamma exposure (GEX)?

Accepted Answer

Gamma exposure (GEX) measures how market makers and dealers need to hedge their options positions as the underlying stock price changes. High positive GEX creates resistance to price movement, while negative GEX can amplify price moves.

Question 2

What markets does GEXStream cover?

Accepted Answer

GEXStream covers S&P 500 stocks, top 100 ETFs including SPY, QQQ, and IWM, 7 major indices, and a set of additional stocks outside the S&P 500.

Question 3

How is GEX Ratio calculated?

Accepted Answer

GEX Ratio nets call gamma against put gamma at each strike, then divides the total from the strikes that came out positive by the total absolute exposure across all strikes. It always falls between 0 and 1. A ratio above 0.5 indicates dealers are net long gamma, while below 0.5 indicates net short gamma.
